Sheikh Abdullah Serageldin

He was born in the year 1342 of the Prophet’s Hijrah, corresponding to the year 1924 AD, in the city of Aleppo. His father, Sheikh Imam Muhammad Najib Serageldin. He joined the legal school (Al-Khusrawiyyah School), excelled among his peers, memorized the Qur’an, and worked on memorizing and studying hadith. In the last year of the Khosrawi school, the curricula changed, and the curriculum of the Ministry of Education (later the Ministry of Awqaf) was introduced to it in its entirety, so the legal curricula became weaker, so the sheikh retired from the school, and devoted himself to Sharia sciences with great diligence and under the supervision and guidance of his father. Among his sheikhs was Sheikh Muhammad Ragheb al-Tabbakh (the historian and speaker of Aleppo). Its memorization has reached about eighty thousand hadiths. From the hadiths of the Sunnah, the Musnad, intimidation, intimidation, interpretation, and so on. And he took great care of the various sciences of Sharia and the sciences of reason and language until he became a sea in every science of them, and soon his reputation flew in the Sharia sciences, especially the science of hadith and its terminology, and he was entrusted with teaching in Sharia schools and the Shaaban school, in addition to his general lessons in mosques. In 1960 AD, he opened the Al-Sha`baniyah School, which became an aspiration for scholars in Aleppo and elsewhere. Throughout his life, he taught lessons in different schools, such as Al-Sha`baniyah and Al-Khusrawiyyah, and in several mosques, such as the Great Mosque, the Al-Hamwi Mosque, the Banqusa Mosque, and the Suleiman Mosque. He passed away on Monday 20 Dhu al-Hijjah 1422 AH, corresponding to March 4, 2002 AD, in the city of Aleppo. Thousands of the people of Aleppo, including his fans and followers, came out to bid farewell to this sheikh.
