Sheikh Abdul Karim, the teacher

He is the scholar Sheikh Abd al-Karim bin Muhammad bin Fateh bin Suleiman bin Mustafa bin Muhammad al-Khalidi, a well-known teacher with Sheikh Abd al-Karim Bayara. His scientific career: He began his studies when he reached the age of discernment, so he sealed the Holy Qur’an and some small religious books. He wandered around the schools and fell under the auspices of a scholar, so he read the introductions to grammar and morphology. He entered the school (Khanqah Durood) under the management of Hazrat Sheikh Alaeddin bin Sheikh Omar Zia El-Din bin Sheikh Othman Siraj El-Din, and studied grammar, logic, etiquette of research, jurisprudence and astronomy. One of his teachers was also the scholar Mullah Mahmoud Balak. Hazrat Mawlana Khalid resided in Khanqah, where he studied at the hands of the scholar Sheikh Omar Al-Qaradaghi, the sciences of proof, anatomy, arithmetic, wisdom, astrolabe, rhetoric and jurisprudence. He took up teaching in Bayara for the years 1347 AH - 1371 AH, when about forty-five students graduated during this period. In the year 1373 AH, he was appointed as a teacher at the Hajj Han Mosque in the locality of Malakandi, after which he moved to Kirkuk, where he stayed in Jamil al-Taliban hospice. He moved to Baghdad in the year 1379 AH, where he remained an imam in the Ahmadi Mosque, then was appointed as a teacher in the mosque of Hazrat Sheikh Ali. Its Arabs and its Kurds. He was visited by scientific missions from Islamic universities, such as Al-Azhar Mosque, Al-Zaytouna Mosque, Al-Qarawiyyin University, Dar Al-Nadwa Al-Hindi University, and others. He continued to teach even after his retirement in the year 1393 AH. The honorable gentlemen, the noble captains, the children of our master, Sheikh Abd al-Qadir al-Kilani, guaranteed him to remain in the Qadiriyah presence to give fatwas to Muslims in legal rulings. His death: He moved to the stay house on Monday the twenty-seventh of the month of Rajab for the year one thousand four hundred and twenty-six AH, corresponding to the twenty-ninth of the month of August for the year two thousand and five AD.
